Just in time for holiday projects, Cricut has released the Foil Transfer Kit! Bring shine and elegant detail to your projects with this tool and the Cricut Foil Transfer Sheets. The Foil Transfer Tool works with the Cricut Explore and Cricut Maker machines, and no heat is required! (The Foil Transfer Tool is not compatible with the Cricut Joy.) Please note: the Foil Transfer Tool can only be used with Design Space for Desktop (PC/Mac version). It cannot be used with the mobile apps (iOS and Android).
The Foil Transfer Tool comes with three tips (fine, medium, and bold) which can be used in the same housing for different effects, even on the same project!
Using the Foil Transfer Tool is easy. Any image that is designed to be drawn can be converted to the foil linetype. To find these images, filter to “Draw Only” under Images. When using text, select the writing style of a font with a writing style, and then change the linetype to “Foil.” REMEMBER: The Foil Transfer Tool can only be used with the PC/Mac version of Design Space. It can’t be used with the mobile version of Design Space.
The Foil Transfer Tool simply drops into the “B” side of the Explore or Maker. Design Space will pause and prompt you to change tools.
