FREE Design Space Project: Some Bunny Loves You Bookmark

There are lots of FREE images in Design Space right now, and this bookmark is an easy project to include with a card that can really brighten someone’s day. It can be cut on the Cricut Explore Series, the Cricut Maker, or the Cricut Joy.

Supplies I used:

The green bookmark was cut on my Cricut Maker, and the pink one was cut on the Joy.

Making on the Cricut Joy

This is an easy and quick project to make on the Cricut Joy. Here’s how to set it up:

Switch the machine to the Joy on the drop down in the upper left corner.

Set the width to two inches wide. You’ll be able to fit two bookmarks on the mat.

After hitting “Make It,” Design Space will ask you to choose if you want to use a mat, and if so, which one you’ll use. This is a big difference from the Explore and Maker machines. For this project, choose “On Mat.” I used the Cricut Joy™ StandardGrip Mat, 4.5″ x 6.5″. (The longer mat would fit four copies of this project.) After selecting the mat, hit “Done.”

On the “Prepare” screen, increase the number of copies and click “Apply.” Two bookmarks will fit on the 6.5″ long mat. Design Space will automatically send more copies to additional mats.

Choose the setting. The Joy doesn’t have as many setting options as the other machines, and I’ve been using “Insert Card – Cardstock” or “Medium Cardstock.” I’ve been getting the best results with Cricut cardstock on “Insert Card – Cardstock.” (If I was using my Maker, I would use “Cardstock (for intricate cuts)”). After loading the mat, click “Go” on the computer or mobile device.

Assembling the Bookmark

Be careful when taking the top layer off the mat (especially if the mat is new). The middle of the “o” in “you” is separate, and so try not to lose it.

This little project is very easy to assemble. I used small dots of Art Glitter Glue to stick the layers together.
