The DJ Inkers – Best Dad in the Whole World image set in Design Space has some fun Father’s Day cards. The Toad-ally Awesome Dad card “jumped” out at me! This card will cut free with a Cricut Access subscription.
Supplies I used:
- Cardstock
- Adhesive Vinyl
- Cricut Pen
- Googly Eyes
- Glue Dots (Mini)
- Alene’s Clear Gel Tacky Glue
- Double-Sided E-Z Runner Grand Adhesive Dispenser
Preparing to Cut
I made a few changes to the design to make it easier to cut an assemble.

The butterfly is two layers and is so small it would be difficult to glue together. I flattened the two layers together to make the butterfly a print then cut image.

I used googly eyes on my card, and so I hid the eyes on the card.
I cut the pieces with words out of vinyl so I didn’t have to deal with the insides of letters. I made “I have a” a different color in order to send it to a different mat from the rest of the black pieces.

I cut the envelope included with this project and made it the same color blue as one of the front pieces. That piece was on mat 8, and I moved it up to mat 7 on the Prepare screen to conserve cardstock. Here is more information on moving materials between mats.
Assembly

I used clear transfer tape to apply the white vinyl to the front of the card so that I could see exactly where I was placing it. Because the transfer tape can damage cardstock, I try not to let the transfer tape stick too much to the cardstock, and I just burnish lightly over the vinyl itself.

The black lettering, the googly eyes, and the butterfly were the last things I put on the card.
