I made Valentine cards again this year for our church’s homebound member ministry. When making 50 of one card, I need for it to be easy to cut and assemble! This card has a print then cut Bible verse on the front with a drawn background and a drawn inside sentiment. You can easily change the sentiment on the front, inside, or both.

Supplies I Used:

Preparing to Cut

Including the embellishments, this card has six layers and is A2 size (4.25″ x 5.5″ when folded). It also has a piece on this inside with the written sentiment

The base layer has the score line and slots to insert the piece with the sentiment.

I designed it this way for a few reasons. First, I wanted the card base to be on a color, and the sentiment to be on white to be easy to read. Also, the sentiment piece could be turned over and the card reused. Finally, this method saves me time and adhesive when assembling.

I used an uploaded pattern from Design Bundles for the layer under the embellishments. This pattern is not included in the Design Space file. Pattern Fill is a great option that can save you from buying patterned paper packs that you’ll have to find a place to store. Here’s my post about using Pattern Fill with digital papers.

Here’s the digital paper collection I used. At the time of this writing, this collection of 16 digital papers is only $1.50! I use glossy photo paper and an inexpensive, consumer-grade inkjet printer to print it.

I also included a piece that is sliced from an image included in the Cricut Access subscription that could be used behind the embellishments.

Assembling the Card

Here’s a sped-up video of me assembling this card:

Here’s are my cards from 2023 and 2022:
