Using Attach to Cut Text Out of a Shape

Attach is a great function that can be used to hold mat placement and to fasten a write or score line to a cut layer. It can also be used to quickly cut text or images out of another image.

All you need to do is put the words on the image, drag a bounding box around it, and click “attach.” You’re ready to cut! If you need to make changes, just detach and edit the text.

Note: The letters WILL turn the same color as the image once attached, but they will still cut out.

Slice vs Attach-imp

You may have used slice before to cut words out of a shape, but it’s more steps and can’t be easily changed later.
