Valentine’s Day is associated with romance, but it’s also a great time to remind someone that he or she is loved. A handmade card is sure to make a loved one feel special, and this one is easy and quick to make.

About the Design

I was browsing Pinterest and found a stamped card that I thought would be good for a Valentine that isn’t necessarily romantic. It’s hard to replicate the look of a stamped card exactly, but with print then cut, it’s possible to achieve a similar effect.

I love using brads on cards. They add interest and dimension, and are nice for recipients who may have sight impairments to feel. I highly recommend using a brad setting tool and piercer. I added hearts to the file if you want to use those in the place of brads.

I didn’t have an embossing folder that I really liked for this card. I used a set of drawn hearts from Design Space, duplicated and contoured them to fit, and changed them to Deboss. I have included an optional drawn background in the file.

Like in this previous card, I used a smooth white insert on the inside to make it easier to write on and to read the sentiment.
