My husband needed an ornament for an ornament exchange at work, and I knew just the one I wanted to make. This Gingerbread Tea Light Ornament from Dreaming Tree is easy, yet impressive.
I decided I wanted to have a wreath instead of a heart and bow on the front of my gingerbread house. I used contour to hide the heart and the hole above it.
One of the things I enjoy about having a Cricut Access subscription is having a wide variety of images to choose from when I want to quickly customize a project to suit my taste. I used the bow and two of the layers of this wreath from the Create A Critter 2 image set. It cut beautifully at just over an inch tall from Cricut Glitter Cardstock.
Supplies I used:
• Cardstock
• Cricut Glitter Cardstock
• Vellum (Red and White)
• Xyron Create-A-Sticker Mini 2.5″ Sticker Maker
• Glue Dots (5mm)
• Double-sided Tape (1/4″)
• Ink
• Blending Tool
• Baker’s Twine
• Battery-Operated Tea Light
I had never inked glitter cardstock before this, but I liked how it turned out. I put the twine through the holes in the roof prior to gluing it to the house, just to make sure I didn’t have trouble getting it through. I used glue dots and double-sided tape so that everything stays together.
The assembly is pretty straightforward, but I always pick up tips or tricks from Leo’s assembly video.

All the Dreaming Tree files are digital downloads that you purchase online and download to your computer. You then upload them to Design Space.
